Moving!

At church a couple of Sundays ago, a friend of mine approached & informed me that her basement apartment is now available. Are we interested?
Well, here are pros & cons:

Pros:
-closer to Anthony's work
-closer to my family
-very close to Jayce's school
-more opportunities to babysit
-paid utilities & satellite

Cons:
-higher monthly rent (550 vs 100)
-neighbors
-less space

BUT the difference in our average utility cost & the rent is only about $240 each month, so it's more like $240 monthly rent.
We will cancel our internet & Netflix, which will knock off about $90.
If I babysit & tutor, I can definitely make up the difference. :)

So we decided to move!
We start moving at the end of the month, and begin paying rent in October. :)
I am excited.

We'll work on our credit, during that time, and then build a house.
I think the future looks promising!

Evicted

Anthony's grandma came to stay with us for three months.
Yes.
Lived with us in this tiny house.
5 months into our marriage.
We were under the impression we could stay as long as we want, maybe even eventually buy the house from her. While she was here, she gave us some unsettling news:

We have until April to move.
She wants the house to be her vacation home.

My Help

A few days ago, I was catching up on some laundry & doing some spring cleaning. I started feeling a bit overwhelmed, because we have just a bit more than a month before his grandma comes to stay 2 months with us. We have to clear out the other bedroom, move to the other bedroom, and get rid of a room full of old STUFF.
I was getting anxious, on the verge of meltdown, when I called my husband into the room.
"Anthony, I don't think we are ready to have a baby. There's no point in trying to conceive."

"What are you talking about? I thought you wanted a baby?"

"I do, but I can't do EVERYTHING while I'm pregnant! What is going to happen when I'm close to my due date and unable to get around and do laundry, dishes, sweep, clean the toilet, and all that??"

He said, "Come here." Then he pulled me close for a hug, patted back, and said the sweetest thing he could come up with. (I'm thinking he's about to say, "Don't worry, I'll take care of everything...")

Here's what I got:
"We'll figure it out."

I couldn't ask for more. At least he entertains me!

Dinah

The day we found Dinah, under the house.
We took her with us to the creek, for a weenie roast.

My husband has a cat.
Yes, it is HIS cat.
We found her, a tiny kitten, under the creek house. She walked on her front 'elbows,' so we splinted her legs.

She is fine now, and walks just fine. This is going to sound ridiculous, but I am jealous of that silly cat. Anthony will often walk right by me. Me! At my cutest, just sitting all soft and nice (Ha!) And he walks right by me to pet the cat. He'll get down in the oddest position, squeeze in to the strangest places, so he stick his face in the cat's face & baby-talk. Yep. That's my husband. I used to say I'd only marry a man who liked animals. I am, now, eating my words.
